Not only do they instill confidence but you also can feel the tires digging into the ground.

With the rain falling the trails are becoming sloppy. Most of us may think this is a bad thing, but it does have some good aspects. There is nothing like sliding around in the mud with your buddies.

-If you are not into sliding around then come on down and take a look at our selection of tires. If you want effienecy and to get through the mud easily then take a look at our Specialized captain tires.

-For you who like to go fast down hill and dont mind pedaling a little heavier tire then come down and look at tires from Specialized to Maxxis. We carry a full line of each.

A new tire makes all the difference in the world.

15% Holiday Sale

Print and bring in this ad and receive 15% off all in stock parts and accessories.

Buy 1 tube at regular price and receive free labor on a flat fix at time of purchase of tube.

Valid until 01/01/08

MAKING ROOM FOR 2008 BIKES

2008 Bikes are in 2007 are on SALE!!!!!!!

With 2008 just around the corner it is time to get rid of our 2007 inventory. With rain a day before the race we were all getting excited at cycle sport to race in the first cross race of the season. All the guys at cycle sport got there hands on some new cross bikes. Myslef and Mike got Specialized Tri-Cross Experts and Tyler got a Tri-Cross Single Speed.

The morning started off great. This being Tylers fisrt Cross race he was not quite sure what to expect. He went hard off the front and did not look back. I think he surprised himself. He was riding hard and until the secong to last lap one of the mant sand baggers caught and passed him for the win. Nice work Tyler Second place in the C class on a single speed.

Next it was my turn and I was shelled. 5 laps into the 7 I was really starting to feel it. It went great in the beginning and slowly downhill from there. I was in 7th for the first 5 laps and then finished the B class with a 12th place. (for the record brent was not there.)

Mike was the final racer in the Soctts Valley Trio. Stepping it up this year and racing the A class Mike looked pissed and ready to go. He looked solid out there but so did everyone. After punishing himslef for 7 laps he tok a sold 22nd place.

Cycle Sport had some other great riders
Matt Dunston 9th Master B 45+

Talyor S 2nd Junior Men

Johnathon Mayfield 3rd Mens C

Mitch Bramlett 18th Master A

Congrats to the SVCS DH team!

CCCX#4

Just wanted to say good job and thank you to all the riders and people who supported the Scotts Valley Cycle Sport DH team over the weekend. We were all out there at the fourth CCCX DH race this weekend. The course was fun with a super fast no brake section in the beginning that had some long corners with little to no traction. Then the course went on to a fun section filled with tight sandy corners and some good off camber. The key to those corners I found was slower entry made for a clean speedy exit. Once you got to the end of that section it was a half mile sprint to the finish, not mention a good climb in there to test you endurance. Personally not a fan of the climb, but hey at least there is local series for us all to enjoy. Congrats go to all the riders:
Junior 14-16
3rd Jack Fogelquist
7th Bryce Shaw
9th Trent Wagner
Hardtail
4th Jacob Hyde
Expert 19-34
1st Ryan Stayskal
Pro,Semi-pro
9th Andrew "shwillis" Mince

NMBS #1

(The picture above I thought would make you laugh)
(Left Schwillis in practice on the four cross course)

NMBS #1

So it has been a couple days since I have come home. Sprinting down there on the DH course and 4x course was torchure. Now I don't want you to think it was all bad. The course were a lot of fun and the DH cours had some good rock sections to it. Their frames were seen everywhere and the Ibis Silk Ti was a machine that many racers wanted under them and was the dominant soft-tail ride. In 2002 Ibis decided to take a break and when they decided to come back they wanted to impact the cycling industry with the same style and class that set them apart in the past.

Well we are happy to report Ibis has returned and they did not just stop at just style.
Let me say that all that style does not loose out to quality of build and ride as we have come to expect from Ibis. Their bikes ride like nothing out there and are sure to provide you that edge to drop all your friends and competitors. Today Ibis bring us the newest technology in carbon bikes with beautiful attention to detail unlike any other maker out there.

Here we have a close up of their mountain bike frame. Raleigh Bicycles.

This mountain bike is the new Single Speed edition to the Raleigh line up featured with 29inch wheels.

The Niner craze is here and something you should consider if you like to hit the fire roads on the longer rides. The bigger wheels give the smooth feel of suspension and the disc brakes give the smooth feel of controlled descents while reducing weight and giving you that hardcore factor you like to brag about. Riding single speeds can increase your power and smooth out your pedal strokes when it comes to race time.
Come by the shop and check the bike out. If your interested, call us for pricing and sizing. 831-440-9070

DETAILS:
With a butted chromoly frame that you'd expect to find on a bicycle costing twice as much, the XXIX epitomizes the simple, smooth-rolling beauty of the rigid 29-inch wheeled MTB. Add components from Avid, WTB, and Easton and you've got a sweet, custom level 29er at a fraction of the price.

the first blog ever

The SVCYCLESPORT blog is in test mode.
Feel free to drop a comment if you stumble on this site.

Be patient, I am still learning how to do this stuff....
